I’m Julia Kerschbaumer – Illubelle is my illustration, lettering and graphic design studio, based in the lovely suburbs of Vienna (Austria). Beside my visual work, conception and creative writing are part of my business.
My illustration style is mainly inspired by the flair of retro children's books. I translate these paper-cut shapes and bold colours into a graphic, concise style to create artwork in a modern way.

My background as a long-time graphic designer in advertising, children's products and food brings my skills in page and package design, as well as a specialisation in hand lettering.

I'm a proud mum of two kids, two cats and a horse. Together with my husband I'm managing business and family life in the lovely suburbs of Vienna, Austria.

I studied graphic- and communication design in Vienna for five years and finished in 2003 with diploma, focused on illustration. During my study I was doing several internships and freelance jobs, such as corporate identity for Austrian Airlines.
After graphic design school I started to work in an advertising agency as a graphic designer and left seven years later as an art director. I started to work as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator in 2010, first with a partner in a designer-cooperation named “Entfalter – die Gestalter”, and from 2012 independently, operating under the name of “Illubelle”.
Since then I deepened my creative writing skills in a distance study, developed my lettering skills, specialized on digital illustration and experimented on several styles. Today I’m happy doing illustration, lettering and design for several clients in the international advertising and publishing industry.
