Thank God it’s christmas

During the pre-Christmas period I watched the masses of Amazon packages and shopping bags in my house growing bigger and bigger, until I began to see how sick this shopping-mania „in the name of God“ is. Even if I think, that it is a nice touch to delight each other with presents, it seems that nowadays Christmas is the time of spending too much money for things nobody really needs.
We are deeply touched by poverty, hunger and war all over the world, but at the same time we rush through the shopping malls, listening to charity pop songs, which have become nothing more than a nice catchy tune on the radio. With this illustration I wanted to bring those thoughts about this aberration of our society to paper. This conclusion might be nothing new, but every year it seems to get worse instead of better, so I think it’s important to point this problem.
